Summer Update: New Office In Manchester & Continuing Expansion in London Dominates 2021 So Far

In January this year we sounded a positive note that despite the pandemic, we saw 2021 as a year of growth and opportunity. And thus far 2021 has not disappointed. We have expanded our professional and technical staff numbers and new business figures are the best that we have seen ever. It is also very positive to see the traditional building surveying instructions returning to pre-pandemic levels, project work, investment and transaction related instructions have also seen a significant upswing as has the numbers of professional and Landlord and Tenant related engagements. Refurbishments are very much back on the agenda for many investors and home owners!

Our growing reputation within the façade remediation sector has seen the 2020 exponential growth continue into 2021. We are now acting as project manager and lead consultant on over forty remediation schemes and our technical and façade consultancy team has grown in numbers and also in geographic reach. We have been appointed on a number of remediation schemes in Essex, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and as far north as Sunderland.

And that of course leads us onto the news that Harris Associates has opened an office in Manchester. We see the North West and the wider regional area as nationally important and strategically key to the UK meeting and grasping the opportunities that exist post-Brexit. Richard Stone will be based in Manchester as our Head of North West Operations and Shaun Harris will provide the strategic and executive leadership.

“It’s been on the cards for a while, but now seems to be the right time. Myself and the team are raring to go! National client bases which we have served primarily in London and the South East have already tapped us up and we are bursting with intent and energy to drive the business into the North West and beyond.” Richard Stone Head of North West Operations.

We have also introduced new services and there is even more to come over the coming months. The construction sector is already within the midst of significant change as the industry reacts to new and impending statute post-Grenfell. And this, all the while dealing with resource and labour shortages and price increases and the pent up demand that is now evident.

So, as we come towards the end of the first half of 2021 and with the promise (kind of) of holidays abroad, office parties, drinks in the beer garden and dare we say face to face team working in the office and proper client entertainment, we look forward to what the rest of 2021 has to bring.
