December can very often be a funny month – quiet or extraordinarily busy!  At Harris Associates December 2016 was certainly the latter with a number of major works schemes coming to a close but it was also a very good month for new business and we also made some procedural improvements relating to our licence to alter services.  For details of the LTA procedural improvements including new Signing Off Notices and Report Appendices  please email Lisa at

On the major works front, the completion of Whitelands House Phase 1 and striking scaffolding at Chesterfield House and the achievement of PC at Artillery Mansions were all welcome milestones for contractors, clients, lessees and surveyors alike!

The best news this month though relates to our formal appointment as the Estates Surveyor for the prestigious and well known Notting Hill residential estate at Princes House, Buckingham Court and Matlock Court.

Our role will see us take on total responsibility for all matters relating to the fabric and services within the buildings and estate as a whole.  Managing the major works and capital expenditure projects will be included, but perhaps the biggest challenge will be the creation of a bespoke and all-encompassing 20 year plan taking into account services renewals, technological advances and how this might affect the estate, looking into options on how to improve the use and maintenance of the estate and knitting together the procedures and service providers / parties with the aim of increasing productivity, transparency, efficiency and achieving much better value for money for the Landlord and Lessees alike.

“We are bursting with enthusiasm and cannot wait to take forward the many facets of this appointment.  It was a super Christmas present and provides us with a cracking start to 2017!”  Shaun Harris
