Harris Associates Wins new PBSA Instruction in Middlesbrough
Harris Associates has been instructed to provide project management services for external façade remediation and fire safety improvements projects on a PBSA development in Middlesbrough. This new instruction sees the leading building and project consultancy extending their façade and fire safety expertise into the PBSA sector, which has historically seen them provide due diligence and other related transaction-based advisory services.
In the last 12 months, their PBSA clients have instructed the team on major schemes in Luton, London, Liverpool and Newcastle and this sector is rapidly becoming one of their core areas of business. This latest project, led by Head of North West Operations, Richard Stone was awarded off the back of an assessment of the development carried out by a group of experts including fire engineering input, led by their Head of Façade Consultancy, Chartered Engineer Tamer Duman.
This new project covers a range of development improvements including façade remediation, fire safety improvements and maintenance works and is being phased over a two-year period. The project will be managed out of the Manchester office and as well as delivering full project management services, the Harris Associates team will also provide technical expertise and intensive construction oversight.
Richard Stone, Head of North West operations said “We are very excited about this new instruction and the opportunity to work with a new client. We have a strong in-house team taking this forward along with a very experienced cohort of design and compliance consultants. We look forward to getting started and delivering safer, higher quality accommodation for students.”
Harris Associates have a full in-house façade team of chartered engineers, technicians and project managers that work on projects of all sizes. Having overseen sixty-plus remediation schemes, they advise on compliance matters, carry out investigations, oversee and coordinate façade remediation work, compliance reviews, EWS1 work and coordinate and deliver PAS 9980 assessments.
