Cashflow
Forecasting
Knowing both how much funding is required and when it is required provides the certainty needed when committing to a project. A cashflow forecast is a vital tool that enables a client to predict the required funding at any stage of a project. The cashflow forecast can be produced at any stage of the project covering both pre and post-contract phases.
In cost consultancy, there are wider project costs that the client will be required to consider. These are usually costs related to a function that falls outside the contract, such as planning fees, relocation costs, existing building insurance and specialist equipment etc. Producing a cash flow forecast in the pre-contract procurement phase enables clients to effectively manage expenditure throughout the entire project and not just the construction phase. The estimates produced during these design stages can be combined with the wider costs to provide comfort in managing the project finances.
Well-designed cashflow forecasts can be easily adapted to give a client up-to-date expenditure predictions even when there are changes in scope or onsite progress.
