What Is Included In Our Fire Compartmentation Survey
Fire-Resistant Barriers: Our experts will assess the integrity of fire-resistant barriers, such as walls and floors, to determine if they meet the required fire resistance ratings. Any breaches, gaps, or damage are noted for remediation.
Fire Doors and Seals: Fire doors play a crucial role in compartmentation. Our survey includes inspecting fire doors, frames, and seals to ensure they meet the required British Standards and adhere to building regulations. Any issues like damaged door leafs, missing intumescent strips, or faulty closers are documented.
Penetrations: We examine any penetrations through walls and floors, such as pipes, cables, or ducts, to ensure they are adequately firestopped or sealed. Penetration breaches can compromise the integrity of compartmentation. This also includes an assessment of the materials used to seal existing service penetrations/ linear joints to confirm whether appropriate fire-rated materials have been used and applied/installed correctly.
Construction Materials: The survey evaluates the materials used in constructing fire-resistant barriers, which includes the materials and methods used to construct any dry-lined walls which form part of the fire compartmentation. Our team will check for compliance with relevant standards and identify any non-compliant materials.
